Holding You Close

Holding you close I feel your embrace,
arms wrapped around me.
Pulling me tight it's such a delight,
my heart leaps and takes flight.
It races inside me.
When we are apart I think of you only,
I desire to hold you again.
I dream of you intensely,
my desire burns like a flame.

Synopsis

A celebration of physical reunion and its aftermath. Scott recalls the delight of being held tight, the racing heart, the sensation of bodies pulled together. When apart, these memories become the sole focus of thought and desire, keeping the flame of longing burning until they can embrace again.

Author's Note:

I wrote this after one of our embraces, trying to capture that racing heart feeling that happens when you're held by someone you truly love. There's something almost childlike in the pure delight of being pulled close, feeling safe and wanted. The rhythm and rhyme came naturally because that's how it feels—musical, joyful, like your heart is literally singing. When we're apart, those moments of being held become what I think about constantly, and the desire to experience that closeness again burns like a flame.
