As I Wait

As I wait to see you again I remember when last I looked deeply into your eyes.

As I wait to hold you again I recall how it felt when last you embraced me tightly, pulling us together.

As I wait to touch you again I think about how holding your hand is a pleasure I truly treasure.

But I would not wish away the time we're not together, rather I will let sweet anticipation grow until I can hold you in my arms again.

Synopsis:

A philosophical reflection on the nature of waiting for love. Rather than wishing away the time spent apart, Scott chooses to savor the anticipation itself. By remembering deep gazes, tight embraces, and the treasure of holding hands, the waiting becomes not a burden but a way to intensify the sweetness of eventual reunion.

Author's Note:

This poem represents a shift in how I think about waiting. Instead of seeing the time apart as something to endure or wish away, I began to see it as its own kind of gift. The anticipation itself became sweet—remembering the depth in Priya's eyes, how it felt to be embraced tightly, the simple treasure of holding hands. I didn't want to rush through our story; I wanted to savor every moment, including the waiting, because it makes our reunion even more meaningful.
