Smitten Lover
Only a smitten lover wakes to thoughts of passion with his lover.
My minds eye sees the expressions of pleasure on your face as you lay under me. Gripping and squeezing and pulling me closer to you. My body reacts to thoughts of penetrating into your wetness and I can feel myself growing even now.
Only my lover can satisfy me, my desire for you is strong and growing as well.
Think of me only my precious lover as I have a place in my heart that only you can fill.
An unabashed declaration of physical and emotional desire. Scott wakes consumed by passionate memories—visions of pleasure, the intensity of bodies joined, the physical response to mere thoughts. This poem asserts mutual exclusivity: only this lover can satisfy, only this lover can fill the place in Scott's heart meant for them alone.
This is probably my most honest and vulnerable poem about physical desire. I wake up thinking about Priya, and my body responds to those thoughts. I wanted to express that raw physicality while also making clear that it's inseparable from emotional devotion. Only she can satisfy me—not just physically, but in every way. She fills a place in my heart that was meant only for her. This poem is about being completely smitten, consumed by thoughts of her, and not being ashamed of that intensity.
