Dream Kisses
You visited me in a dream last night,
You're kisses were so sweet,
Lips soft pressed to mine with passionate intent.
Our heart beats pace as one,
bodies moving together.
I awake with sadness to depart from sweet passion.
Yet feeling the faint touch of a kiss,
a most wonderful way to begin the day.
A nocturnal visitation blurs the line between dream and reality. The lover appears in sleep, offering passionate kisses and synchronized intimacy. Though waking brings sadness at departing from this dream passion, the lingering sensation of a kiss transforms the separation into a wonderful beginning to the day.
Priya literally visited me in a dream, and when I woke up, I could still feel the sensation of her kiss. It was bittersweet—sad to wake and realize it was a dream, but also wonderful because the feeling lingered. This poem captures how love exists in both our conscious and unconscious minds, how even in sleep we reach for each other. That faint touch of a kiss stayed with me all day, turning what could have been sadness into gratitude for such a beautiful way to begin the morning.
