Radiant Love

I love you this morning
with a love as fresh as the dew.
All love of the past is overshadowed
when I awake with thoughts of you.

My love for you is renewing
with the rising of the sun.
It can’t be stopped from growing
even as the rising tide.

Loving you is easy
and easier every day.
With hopeful desire to please you,
I try in every way.

Today I crave to hold you
and peer into your porcelain and ebony eyes
Telling you what my heart feels
showing you with my life.

Precious love is blooming,
our spring time fresh delight.
A bouquet of fragrant experience
growing in plain sight.

I feel the bond that is stronger.
tightening like a satin strand.
Gently holding us together,
never broken by any man.

Invisible love envelops us,
A vision for all to see.
Radiant affection for each other,
is the way of you and me.

Introduction:

This poem arrives in the collection like a morning — fresh, unhurried, and full of quiet joy. Where other poems carry the weight of battle or longing or separation, this one rests in the simple pleasure of waking up in love. It is Scott at his most at peace, and it gives the collection a breath of open air before the final poem closes everything in stillness.

Author's Note:

I wrote this on a morning when I woke up thinking of Priya and simply felt grateful. No struggle, no longing, no complexity — just the clean simple fact of loving her. The line about her porcelain and ebony eyes is the most specific thing I have written about her physically. I see her when I close my eyes. I wanted her to know that.
